I have had the following question asked three times in the last week.
Can you turn a file system folder of documents, say, pdf files, that is mapped to a drive on the
Sharepoint server, into a Sharepoint Document Library without importing the files?
There are several utilities like SPIEFolder that can import files, but there are customers that do not want this.
What they want is to be able to see all the documents as a doc list, perhaps even with metadata so that
search will work. Maybe even the double click (open) can be made to work.
Thanks in advance

Bamboo Solutions has recently released a solution for this. I have it, but haven't tried it out yet.

Is this what you are looking for?
