Does anyone know if there is a way to change form or list properties so modifications can be made offline and then reuploaded to the SharePoint server?

Editing the 3 default SharePoint forms (new, edit, and display) is painfully slow because the forms are WYSIWYG and every time I make a change I have to wait for that individual change to refresh the server and return before I can do the next change.
