This will bring you to a page that bullets Small, Medium and Large server farms. Clicking "Deploying a Medium Server Farm" will take you to step by step procedures to do this from scratch.

Since you already have an installation of SPS 2003 up and running, the first question you'll face is regarding the portal name. If you've used the machine name, such as http://server1, this will present a problem when you get into Network Load Balancing, which depends on a "friendly name" (virtual name) such as http://portal. If you're already using a friendly name or alias, you'll be in a better position going forward.

There will also be a question as to how the Portal was initially installed...as a Single Farm Instance (meaning one server) or as a Server Farm.

Look through the steps in the administration guide article and talk to your IT folks. What is your timeline for upgrading to MOSS 2007?

-chad

Documentation on Installing Medium Server Farm SPS 2003

We already have SPS 2003 and WSS installed successfully, up and running for over a couple of years now. I was not involved in the installation process of SharePoint and want to know if someone can either point me to the best source for information of "How to Install SPS and WSS 2003" on a Medium Server Farm or can point me in the best direction? Thanks.
