Workflow Deployment Error

I was wondering if someone might be able to help me with a problem I've run into. I've created a workflow designed to route some forms for approval when the form is created or modified. This was done in Designer (though I'm hoping to port it into Visual Studio for some fine tuning later).

Yesterday, I brought the XOML and rules files over to a new server, built the workflow, and fixed the GUIDS to test it in a new environment. Everything worked except for the automatic kick off. Despite being toggled in Designer, the workflow would only be started if manually triggered (at which point it behaved like the original on the other web application).

Is there somewhere else I need to make an adjustment besides in designer's wizard in order to allow this workflow to be triggered automatically?

I'm trying to find out how I can take my list of sites created and have them list with bullets in a webpart on the main page...

I'm not too familiar with XML or CAML or anything and not even sure if that knowledge would be necessary to do this.

Developing a letter writting product using Sharepoint

I am new to MOSS and I am evaluating if we could use MOSS to develop a letter writing product for our clients. I looking for a product that allows me to create and manage a letter template online and then merge with a data file to produce mass mail letters to be mailed out to our clients.

I would like to know if I could achive my objective using MOSS.

Modifying SharePoint Templates

Has anybody modified any of the 40 or so templates, specifically the IT Team Workspace template?

I am having problems with Project list DispForm.aspx. The Related Tasks webpart I want to change so it does not display tasks with a "Completed" status. When I try modifying the filter the tasks that were displayed in the webpart are all missing. I cannot even set the filter back to display the original items that were in the webpart. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

What is the best way to add calculated fields to a list?

I have a pretty simple task to complete. I have a custom list in MOSS 2007 with a date field. I need to calculate a bunch of other dates based on the value of the date field entered and the values of other fields in the list. The standard 'calculated' field type for a column can not accomodate what I am trying to do. I need to add some code to execute every time the date field changes to preform the calculation and write back to the appropriate list columns.

What is the best way to do this? I've tried looking at Sharepoint Designer but do not see an onChange event for a data bound list field control. I've also been struggling trying to write an event handler for the list where I could do the necessary calculations. Can't get it to work so far. Am I missing something in Sharepoint Designer, can I attach code to a change action on a list field?

Content Query Web Part - query data w/special characters

I've managed to customize the CQWP to add columns to the Group & Filter drop-downs based on columns custom to the list. I am also aware of the requirement that when you have a special character, like a space, in a column, that must be replaced by "_x0020_" in the column name when referencing it in the .webpart file.

My problem is when performing a query on one of these columns in the 'Additional Filters' section when the data contains a special character. For instance, I have a column called 'Region' which is attached to a menu where "US/Canada" is one of the options. I select 'Region' from the filter menu and select "is equal to" and put "US/Canada" (without the quotes) in the text field. Every time I get a "This query has returned no items..." when I know for a fact a valid item exists.

Is there some sort of bug or requirement that data being queried through the CQWP cannot contain special characters either? I tried all sorts of variations "US Canada", "USCanada", even tried replacing with unicode like the column name, "US_x002f0_Canada"...nothing seems to work.

I have an initiation form for a custom activity created in c#. It would be very usefull if i could set the default value`s field in the initiation form as a current item column property.

create master list

I would like to create a list of servers that will not allow duplicates and use this as a master list that will automatically populate several child lists that will contain different information but is tied to each server. Want to know if there is a way to do this without programming.

Hello.
I am a complete noob in this section...
I am trying to create a custom action for Sharepoint Designer... It would have almost the same capabilities as the Create Item from SPD. The difference would be...that i would want to select any other document library from any site in sharepoint...not only the current site. My problem is that i don`t know how to create the interface for spd...when you click custom action there...and choose your action from extras...i don`t know how to make the "form" for the user options. How can i do this? How can i get the variables from that "form" and use them into my code?

Resize/reposition image

I have a placed a company logo in the ms-sitetitle, appearing at the top center of my page. However, when I resize the browser, this logo gets covered by the GlobalTitleAreaImage on the left, and the search boxes on the right.

How can I get these to resize and reposition appropriately?

SQL Server Report Viewer WebPart error

I get this a generic error message when using the SQL Report Viewer in MOSS, I can create the Report Explorer and open the Reports in Report Explorer, but when I try to enable the viewer webpart I get an error and must remove the webpart from the site. I Looked in the Logs and saw a security error, but do not know where to fix the permissions.

Partial Search in Form Webpart

I want to add a partial search for my XSLT data view. I am able to search for various field using form web part through front page but not able to implement a partial search feature, can anybody give me a direction here. Any help is greatly appreciated.

SubArea Deleted. Trying to recover web parts. HELP!!!

Hello All.

We're running SPS2003. We had a user that we trying to reorganize what he thought was just a list of links, but was actually a mixture of subareas under the Topics Area that had been renamed. While reorganizing the sections the user unintentionally deleted a very important subarea that is used by out sales department.

And of course, we didn't have a back of the SPS databases!!!

The good news is that the majoriy of that sub-area was a few custom webparts and a list of links to documents stored on another server. My problem is that I am trying to rebuild the subarea and can't find the webparts in any of the galleries. I've found the DLLs for them in the bin directory, but searched the whole machine and can't find the matching CAB or DWP files.

Does anyone know how I can get the webparts back into the site?

Error with Web Part

I am pulling data from my SQL database thru a webpart on a Sharepoint site. When the site comes up there are two popups asking if you are sure you can trust that data being pulled up. How can I get these popup messages to go away?
